For the second time in the month of February, the number of new COVID-19 cases has crossed the 500 marks in the city. Earlier, on February 3, the city had reported 503 cases. Mumbai is now left with 5,369 active cases. Meanwhile, four people have suffered injuries after a major fire broke out in a godown in suburban Andheri which caused LPG cylinders stored there to explode. Mumbai city Mayor Kishori Pednekar has requested the citizens to submit a written application about cylinders kept in the nearby areas. In another development, the NCB has continued its action against the drug cases. The agency has arrested a man for alleged possession of 412 gm of mephedrone (MD) during a raid in Kalyan taluka.

95,657 vaccinated in the city
Meanwhile, 6,463 beneficiaries, including 2,727 healthcare workers and 3,736 frontline workers, were administered COVID-19 vaccines at 23 centers in Mumbai on Monday, taking the total count of the inoculated healthcare workers to 95,657.
Mumbai is now left with 5,369 active cases while the average doubling rate of cases is 555 days.
