The coming time may bring more happiness for the employees, a new labor code is coming in the country, under which the employees can get three days off in a week, the Ministry of Labor and Employment asks them to implement four new labor codes. The related rules may be finalized this week.
With the introduction of these labor codes, a new round of reforms will begin in the country's labor market, after the draft is finalized, employees will be given the option of working four days a week and three days off with it.
New labor codes may apply from 1 April
Labor Secretary Apoorva Chandra informed that new rules are being framed and it is expected that the work will be completed in the coming week, discussions have been held with all concerned.
If an employee works for more than 8 hours a day or more than 48 hours in a week, then he will get double the salary of overtime than normal salary.
The draft of the new Labor Code proposes to make employees' working hours up to 12 hours a day before the period was 9 hours and included an hour's rest.
In a code called Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions, the government has asked companies to give an exemption for working hours for 12 hours a day.
The rules have also been fixed for calculating overtime, if an employee works for 15 to 30 minutes then he will be counted as full 30 minutes.
