CEC team visits Puducherry

CEC team visits Puducherry

Puducherry, Feb 11 (UNI) Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora, along with his team, arrived in this Union Territory on Thursday evening, to review the preparedness for the Assembly elections, to be held in another couple of months.

The team is scheduled to hold a meeting with political parties, another with the District Election Officers and also with the Superintendents of Police, Chief Electoral Officer and the police nodal officers.

After their night stay here, the team members will have meetings with election-related Regulatory Agencies, the Chief Secretary, the Home Secretary, the DGP and other senior police officials on Friday, before leaving at 1600 hrs.

Election Commissioners of India (ECI) Sushil Chandra and Rajiv Kumar, ECI Secretary General Umesh Sinha, Deputy Election Commissioner Chandra Bhushan Kumar, ADG Sheyphail B Sharan, Director of Election Expenditure in ECI Pankaj Srivastava and ECI Secretary Mallay Mallick are the members of the team.
