Prothena: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

DUBLIN (AP) _ Prothena Corp. (PRTA) on Thursday reported a loss of $30.7 million in its fourth quarter.

The Dublin-based company said it had a loss of 77 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 83 cents per share.

The drug developer posted revenue of $360,000 in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $200,000.

For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $111.1 million, or $2.78 per share. Revenue was reported as $853,000.

Prothena shares have climbed 31% since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 22% in the last 12 months.
