New Delhi, Feb 11(UNI) Indian Space Research Organization ISRO is designing space education and space technology as an extracurricular activity for schools.
This is to utilise the Atal Tinkering Labs,which will have the endorsement of the Ministry of Education.
Minister of State Jitendra Singh told the Rajya Sabha that ISRO has adopted Atal Tinkering Labs across the country in the field of space education and technology.
In a written reply to the House, he said the whole programme is divided into two phases.
In the first phase the programme has been adopted in 45 schools across the country and in the second phase it would adopt the rest 55.
Atal Tinkering Lab refers to space where school children can experiment with, learn, develop and conceptualise different scientific ideas. It facilitates projects similar to DIY (do it yourself) projects.
