Biennial polls to Andhra, Telangana teacher, graduate constituencies on Mar 14

New Delhi, Feb 11 (UNI) Election Commission of India has announced biennial elections for two seats of the Legislative Councils of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana from graduates and teachers constituencies on March 14, an official statement said here on Thursday.

In Andhra Pradesh, Ramu Surya Rao from East-West Godavari and A S Ramakrishna of Krishna-Guntur teachers constituency are retiring on March 29.

Similarly, in Telangana, the tenure of Ramachandra Rao N from Mahabubnagar-Ranga Reddy-Hyderabad and Dr Palla Rajeshwar Reddy of Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda graduate constituencies ended on March 29.

As per the ECI, the notification will be issued on February 23 while the polling is scheduled on March 14 (Sunday) from 0800 hrs to 1600hrs.

The counting of votes will take place on March 22, Monday, the ECI added.
