Jharkhand: Two IEDs weighing 40 kg recovered in Chaibasa, later defused

Chaibasa, Feb 11 (UNI) In a joint operation conducted by Chaibasa Police and CRPF two IEDs weighing 40 kilograms have been recovered from Goeilkera Police Station area of the West Singhbhum district.
Police said the bombs were planted under the road connecting Goeilkera with Chaibasa, 400 meters away from a culvert at Gittilipi Chowk.
Police said that the bombs were deeply planted inside the grounds that the security personnel were not able to dug them out after which the bomb disposal squad defused the bombs at the same spot.
Smoke released from the blast rose nearly 40 feet. Police said that security forces were conducting regular anti-insurgency operations against hardcore Maoist Aatiram Manjhi alias Anal Da who was carrying a reward of Rs 1 crore and to inflict damage on the security forces these IEDs had been planted.
