Mumbai, Feb 11 (UNI) The Vinda Karandikar Lifetime Achievement Award for 2021 will be given to modern Marathi writer Ranganath Pathare, announced Maharashtra Industries and Marathi Language Minister Subhash Desai on Thursday.
Addressing a news conference here, he informed that the award consists of cash prize of Rs 5 lakh and citation.
The Sri P Bhagwat Award will be given to Shabdalay Prakashan at Shrirampur in Ahmednagar district, he said and informed that the award consists of cash prize of Rs 3 lakh and citation.
The Marathi Language Scholar Award will be presented to Dr Sudhir Rasal, who has been teaching Marathi at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University for 35 years.
The award consists of Rs 2 lakh in cash and citation, the minister said.
The Poet Mangesh Padgaonkar Language Promotion Award will be given to Sanjay Janardan Bhagat and Marathi Sahitya Parishad, Andhra Pradesh, he informed.
The award consists of Rs 2 lakh each in cash and citations, Mr Desai added.
