Pharma stocks were broadly in the red during Wednesday's trading session tracking benchmarks selloff. Heavyweights like Dr Reddy and Sun Pharma dragged the sectoral index most.
At around 11.24 am, Nifty Pharma was trading at 12,778 down by 34.80 points or 0.27%. The index has touched an intraday high and low of 12,895.65 and 12,689.40 respectively in early trade.
On the index,
Sun Pharma was the top laggards down by 1% followed by
Dr Reddy's Lab also diving nearly 1%. Cadila Healthcare and Aurobindo Pharma plunged by 0.4% and 0.5% respectively.
Stocks like Divis Lab, Torrent Pharma and Alkem dived marginally.
On the other hand,
Cipla was the top gainer soaring by 1.2% followed by Lupin marginally up. Biocon traded flat.
Meanwhile, Sensex was trading at 51,203.62 lower by 125.46 points or 0.24%. While Nifty 50 was down by 26.90 points or 0.18% and trading at 15,082.40.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare latest update on COVID-19 Vaccination revealed that the number of healthcare and frontline workers vaccinated against COVID19 has reached 65.28 lakh on the twenty-fifth day of the countrywide COVID-19 vaccination program. India is the topmost country to reach the 6 million mark of COVID vaccinations in just 24 days.
