Tourism Kelowna launches #exploreKelowna Local Savings Pass

Published on : Thursday, February 11, 2021

As tourism numbers are still struggling due to the effect of pandemic, Tourism Kelowna is keeping no stones unturned so that it can keep some dollars flowing to local stakeholders.

On Tuesday, the organization declared its #exploreKelowna Local Savings Pass. It’s a new program targeted to connect the residents to local businesses.

To quote Lisanne Ballantyne, Tourism Kelowna president and CEO, “The tourism industry has been hit hard by the ongoing health emergency. Our aim with the #exploreKelowna Local Savings Pass is to support our local businesses during these difficult times by driving traffic directly to them.

The Savings Pass also creates an easy and fun way for residents to safely rediscover our city as we all continue to stay local and support local.”

For the program, the residents of Central Okanagan can now sign up to get discounts as well as special offers from 80 local businesses. Anyone who makes the use of the pass at five businesses will get to win one of three $100 gift cards automatically for purchases at Kelowna Visitor Centre.

“It is such a fun way to promote our local businesses to the community and have our locals take advantage of some amazing deals within our area,” Kelowna Concierge co-owner Jon De Bruyne said. “As a tourism-based business, we are so thankful for all of the support throughout the Okanagan, and we encourage residents to enjoy exploring their own backyard.”
