Facebook rolls out a new update to Messenger to make it more secure

In order to make its Messenger platform safer for its users, Facebook has rolled out more options around Message Requests, according to a report by Engadget.
As per the report, this new feature will make it easier to mass-delete and block suspicious accounts. Further, the company also said that it is working on “new ways to make it easier for people to report abuse and harassment,” providing “better feedback” on the status of messages they have reported.
Back in October, Facebook merged Instagram DMs (Direct Message) with Facebook’s Messenger platform. This essentially means that users who use the Messenger app will be able to reach others on Instagram without needing to download a new app, and vice versa.
Following that in November, the social networking giant added Vanish mode for its Messenger app. When the feature is turned on, the sent messages will be shown to the receiver when the chat is open. Once the user closes the chat the message will also be deleted. On the other hand, WhatsApp's Disappearing message feature will keep the message for seven days in the chat before deleting it.
