Local news has a new local face.

Port Neches native Aaron Drawhorn will debut as KFDM 6 News evening co-anchor on Friday, the station announced.

He will join Tiffany Murphy on the 5 p.m. broadcast.

Drawhorn, a three-time Emmy Award winner, has almost 20 years of television news experience at stations in Corpus Christi, Bryan-College Station, Las Vegas and Albuquerque, New Mexico. He also interned with CNN’s business desk while in college.

“Aaron has an incredible depth of news experience and reporting integrity,” News Director Paul Alexander said in a statement. “We’re excited to welcome him home to Southeast Texas.”

Drawhorn is a 1996 graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School and holds a political science degree from Trinity University.

“I grew up watching Channel 6 News,” Drawhorn said in a statement. “KFDM has a rich tradition of providing accurate and relevant news. I’m honored to join the 6 News family.”
