Repolling ordered for Kandarada village sarpanch election

Kakinada, Feb 10 (UNI) Repolling has been ordered for the election of Sarpanch in Kandarada village at Pithapuram mandal, in view of snatching of ballot papers during a rival clash at the counting centre.

Announcing this here on Wednesday, East Godavari Collector D Muralidhara Reddy, who is also the District Election Officer, said that the rivals clashed, while the counting of votes was in progress in Kandarada village and in the melee, some miscreants snatched away the ballot papers.
''Based on the Returning Officer's report, the decision was taken to conduct repolling for the sarpanch election on February 13 from 0630 hrs to 1530 hrs.
Arrangements were made to conduct the election in a peaceful atmosphere, providing adequate bandobust.

However, any sort of election campaign would not be permitted, the Collector added.

Churuli sets for World Premiere, with an Eye on Suvarna Chakoram
