Italian telecom revenues down 5.3% on Covid impact in first 9 months of 2020

Total revenues in Italy's telecommunications sector declined by 5.3 percent year on year in the first 9 months 2020 due above all to the negative impact of Covid-19 restrictions on mobility, according to an update from industry regulator Agcom. The decline affected the mobile segment (-6.2%) more than the fixed (-4.5%), with the telecommunications sector as a whole losing some EUR 1.1 billion from January to September period, compared to EUR 780 million for Italy's media sector.
