"I'm writing a new song, it's going to hit you hard," says Cynthia Erivo in the first trailer for National Geographic's Genius: Aretha.
The song she is talking about and sings is the hit Chain of Fools, for which the soul singer won a Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, and later a Grammy Hall of Fame Award.
The eight-episode series will explore Aretha's musical genius and career, and the impact and influence she had on music and culture around the world.
