America Movil returns to growth in Caribbean, adds 144,000 Dominican subs

America Movil's Claro units in the Caribbean returned to growth in the fourth quarter of 2020 following recent Covid-impacted quarterly falls. Total revenues came to USD 458 million in the October to December period, up 1.0 percent year on year thanks mainly to 10.7 percent surge in Puerto Rico and a 2.4 percent rise in the Dominican Republic. EBITDA for the Caribbean region came to USD 164 million, up 18.4 percent year on year, with the EBITDA margin climbing nearly 10 percentage points to 35.8 percent of revenues.
