Kharagpur, Feb 10 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Jagat Prakash Nadda on Wednesday said the development will be possible only when Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata leaves and lotus blooms.
Addressing the party’s 'Cha Chakra' program at Hariatara village ground here, Mr Nadda said, "development will be possible only when Mamata Ji leaves and lotus blooms."
Alleging that the Mamata Banerjee dispensation has not done anything for the welfare of the farmers and tribals in West Bengal, the BJP president said that his party will ensure all-round advancement of the people of the state if voted to power.
He said that those who won the elections in the name of 'Ma, Mati, Manush', are now engaged in "dictatorship, appeasement and strongarm tactics".
The remark came a day after Trinamool supremo had urged the people to show the door to BJP, saying, "Bidai dao, bidai dao, BJP ke bidai dao... They have turned India into a crematorium. They want to turn Bengal into the same. We will not allow this. In the coming days, 'Maa, Mati, Manush' will emerge victoriously.
On Tuesday, while launching the final two legs of the Yatra, Mr Nadda said that the people of Bengal want a change in leadership.
“Enough Mamata Ji, people want change,” he said.
Mr Nadda said the state’s “rich culture” was under threat because of the Mamata Banerjee-led government.
The BJP president said when Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to Haldia a few days ago, he inaugurated the project. He then mocked the Bengal chief minister and said, “Mamata Ji doesn’t want development”.
He further highlighted how the central government, led by PM Modi, is taking steps to provide direct benefits to help people.
Mr Nadda accused the Trinamool Congress of dividing communities by branding some people as outsiders and ruining the culture of Bengal. In recent months, the ruling party has targeted the BJP as a party led by outsiders.
