Having shown the light commercial vehicle (LCV) Combo-e last month, Opel has now pulled the cover off the MPV variant, known as the Combo-e Life.

Set to arrive at dealers across Europe this fall, joining other electrified Opels and Vauxhalls, the new Combo-e Life is available with two wheelbase options -normal (Medium) and extended (XL)- and both of them offering seating for five or seven passengers in Continental Europe. In the UK, the XL version, which is 350 mm (13.8 in) longer at 4.75 m (187 in), will be offered exclusively with seven seats.

Sandwiched under the floor between the axles, the 50 kWh battery powers an electric motor with 136 PS (134 HP / 100 kW) and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) of torque. The new Opel Combo-e Live can accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 11.2 seconds, with a 130 km/h (81 mph) electronically limited top speed.

The battery supports 100 kW fast charging, taking around 30 minutes to be juiced up to 80 percent. All trim levels will feature a standard single-phase 7.4 kW on-board charger, while a three-phase 11 kW will be available as an option. The driving range is rated at 280 km (174 miles) on the WLTP cycle.

In the five-seat configuration, the Medium variant has 597 liters (21 cu-ft) of boot space, expandable to 2,126 liters (75 cu-ft) with the second row folded down. The XL has 850 liters (30 cu-ft) behind the second row and up to 2,693 liters (95 cu-ft) behind the front seats, and with the front passenger seat folded down, it can haul longer items, such as surfboards. The Combo-e Life has a maximum towing capacity of 750 kg (1,653 lbs).

All versions are offered with a standard 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, navigation, live traffic updates, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an optional panoramic roof, accompanied by a 36-liter storage box mounted above the hat tray in the boot. A selection of safety gear is also present, alongside the electronic traction control with Normal, Snow, Mud, and Sand driving modes.
