CHANDIGARH: The Haryana government on Tuesday issued orders for removal of 816 art and craft teachers from service as their selection had already been set aside by the Punjab and Haryana high court in February 2015.
Nitin Kumar Yadav, director general, elementary education department, Haryana, issued orders to all district elementary education officers to dispense with their services in three days.
The decision was taken just three days before the matter was to be heard by the HC on February 12. The HC had issued contempt of court notice to the director general as to why proceedings be not initiated against him for non-compliance of its November 10, 2020, order rejecting teachers’ plea to allow them to work till fresh selection.
