Karishma Dev Dube's directorial 'Bittu', on Wednesday, was shortlisted for the Live Action Short Film Category for the 93rd Academy Awards. Meanwhile, India's official Oscar entry 'Jallikattu' failed to make it to the International Feature Film shortlist.

Here are the shortlists in the Live Action Short Film Category announced for the 93rd Oscars.

The official list on the website said, "Ten films will advance in the Live Action Short Film category for the 93rd Academy Awards. One hundred seventy-four films qualified in the category. Members of the Short Films and Feature Animation Branch vote to determine the shortlist and the nominees."

Tahira Kashyap also shared the news of the same and wrote, "#bittu is in the top 10 for the 93rd Academy Awards! Can’t keep calm as this is our first project under @indianwomenrising. Tahira, along with Ekta Kapoor and Guneet Monga has joined hands to form a cinema collective - Indian Women Rising which presented the film.

The official synopsis of Bittu reads, "Based on a true story, Bittu is a short film about a close friendship between two girls, eclipsed by an accident." Earlier, Priyanka Chopra, Madhuri Dixit, Ayushmann Khurrana, Dia Mirza, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sonali Bendre amongst others had given a shout out to the film on social media.

Apart from this, Bittu received an overwhelming response at more than 18 film festivals and recorded multiple wins. Bittu also came to India with Dharamshala International Film Festival.
