BEML Ltd Q3 PAT up 6-fold at Rs28.07cr on lower inventory costs

BEML Ltd reported 5.6% growth in total revenues for the Dec-20 quarter on consolidated basis at Rs738.31cr. The company essentially caters to the construction sector and that sector essentially saw some pick-up in activity taking it back to pre-COVID levels. The defence business has also shown traction in the quarter.


The consolidated Profit after tax (PAT) for the Dec-20 quarter was up 6-fold at Rs28.07cr. While the material costs did escalate during the quarter in line with supply chain constraints, it was compensated by reducing the capital locked up in inventories. As a result, the PAT margins improved from 0.61% in Dec-19 to 3.80% in Dec-20.
