Liquid Telecom applies for Ugandan licences to provide public infrastructure services

Liquid Telecom has reportedly applied for two operating licences from the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) which has reminded all telecom firms to submit applications under the new licensing regime, Techjaja reported. The new framework standardises and reclassifies provision into five categories, namely National Telecom Operator (NTO), National Public Service Provider (NPSP), Regional Public Service Provider (RPSP), National Public Infrastructure Provider (NPIP) and Regional Public Infrastructure Provider (RPIP) Licence.
