IPL 2021: From MS Dhoni to Amit Mishra, list of players who might play their last IPL season

IPL 2021- The 14^th edition of the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) is slated to take place in April. The upcoming edition of the IPL could be a thrilling affair for the fans as the players are likely to play the tournament in India (in presence of limited crowds in the stands). The IPL 14 could be last season for a number of big cricketers, including the legendary wicket-keeper MS Dhoni. In this article, we look at those players who might play their last season of IPL.

MS Dhoni

The 39-year-old is unlikely to continue post IPL 2021 season. The legend has done wonders for his franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK), leading them to glory in three IPL seasons—2010, 2011 and 2018.

Robin Uthappa

The opening batsman is among the key players for a number of IPL franchises over the years. He faced a lot of problem with the bat in his previous stint with the Rajasthan Royals. If he fails to produce match-winning innings, Uthappa might be forced to retire from the T20 league.

Imran Tahir

The 41-year-old will represent Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2021. Imran Tahir did not enough games in the previous season. In familiar conditions of Chepauk, the spinner might play his last IPL season.

Dwayne Bravo

Dwayne Bravo has played in all the editions of IPL and produced a number of match-winning performances for Chennai Super Kings. Owing to his age (37), the West Indies legend might take retirement from the IPL after this season but he might continue to be a part of CSK camp as a bowling coach to guide younger players.

Amit Mishra

The 38-year-old might feature in his last season of IPL. He is the first bowler to a hat-trick in the T20 tournament. Mishra, who is the second leading wicket-taker (160 wickets in 150 matches) in IPL history, has been retained by his IPL team Delhi Capitals for IPL 2021.
