The company has revealed the ransom note left in its systems by the attackers. According to the note, full copies of the source codes for Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3, Gwent, and the unreleased version of The Witcher 3 have all been compromised. Documents relating to accounting, administration, legal, HR, and investor relations have also been compromised.
The attackers have stated that if the two parties don't come to an agreement in the next 48 hours, the source codes will either be sold, or leaked online, and sensitive documents will be sent to journalists.
"We will not give in to the demands nor negotiate with the actor, being aware that this may eventually lead to the release of the compromised data," says CD Projekt's statement. "We are taking necessary steps to mitigate the consequences of such a release, in particular by approaching any parties that may be affected due to the breach."
CD Projekt is currently still investigating the incident, but has made assurances that none of the compromised systems contained any personal data of its players or users of its services. The company is working with the relevant authorities, as well as IT forensic specialists to fully investigate the incident.
