Actor-activist Deep Sidhu arrested in Republic-Day violence case

New Delhi, Feb 9(UNI) Punjabi actor-turned activist Deep Sidhu, an accused in the Republic-Day violence, was arrested on Tuesday morning by Delhi police here.

Sidhu was accused of instigating the farmers during the tractor rally held against the three contentious farm laws.

The tractor parade had taken a violent turn after the protestors deviated from the designated route, forced the way to the Red Fort and planted a Sikh religious flag on its ramparts.

Police was on a look-out for Sidhu after he went missing following the incident.

The opposition had been alleging that the 36-year-old actor is associated with the BJP and receiving its patronage after several pictures of him with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and

others surfaced on social media.

Sindhu was the IT cell in charge of actor-turned BJP MP Sunny Deol during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections .
