BEIJING: China's foreign ministry said on Tuesday that China will continue to take necessary measures to ensure its sovereignty and security, after the United State said two U.S. carrier groups conducted joint exercises in the South China Sea.

Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin made the comment at a daily news briefing in Beijing.
