93% MCG staff get vaccine shots

Gurgaon: In order to encourage the MCG frontline workers to get inoculated, MCG commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh was among the first few to take the shot on Monday. According to health officials, a total of 93.2% MCG employees got inoculated on Monday.
Besides MCG commissioner, sanitation workers’ union head also got vaccinated to encourage the sanitation workers, who were hesitant to get vaccinated. “All MCG employees should get vaccinated in the vaccination camps organised by the civic body. If the frontline workers do not avail this opportunity, they will get another opportunity only after six months,” said the MCG commissioner.
MCG chief added that all senior and top officials of the civic body, including additional municipal commissioner Rohtash Bishnoi, joint commissioner-3 Hariom Attri, joint commissioner-4 Pradeep Ahlawat among others got vaccinated on Monday and there was nothing to worry.
MCG on Monday organised a vaccination drive for its frontline workers at 15 centres. The target for MCG was to vaccinate 1,500 employees out of whom 1,398 turned up for the drive.
The session sites were set up at the Sector 27 community centre, Sector 39 community centre, MCG office in Sector-34, Islampur community centre, community centre in Sector-15 part-2, community centre in Sector 10A and Sukhrali community centre among others.
Officials said that with the top officials opting for vaccination, the frontline workers of MCG are now turning up at the session sites to get vaccinated.
