The paid VoD market in the EU's 27 members plus the UK jumped to EUR 11.6 billion in revenues in 2020, from just EUR 388.8 million in 2010, according to the latest report from the European Audiovisual Observatory. The increase was mainly driven by SVoD revenues, which soared to EUR 6.7 billion from EUR 12 million, helped by the launch of new services over the past 10 years, and their rapid adoption. The number of OTT SVoD subscriptions passed 140 million last year, from 300,000 in 2010. Meanwhile, TVoD revenues also rose sharply, to EUR 1.87 billion from EUR 377 million.
