Over 20 Talibs killed in Airstrikes in Northern Afghanistan: Military

MOSCOW, Feb 9 (Sputnik) Twenty-one Taliban militants have been killed and dozens more sustained injuries in airstrikes in Afghanistan’s northern Faryab province, the defense ministry said on Tuesday.
"21 #Taliban including 3 of their commanders were killed in Almar and Qaisar districts of Faryab #province in #airstrikes yesterday. Additionally, 18 Taliban were wounded, 4 strongholds and a large amount of their weapons and ammunitions were destroyed," the ministry tweeted.
The Afghan armed forces and the Taliban continue fighting despite months of peace talks in Doha. The new US administration's decision to review the Trump-era peace deal with the Islamist movement, which envisaged conditional American troop pullout by May 2021, has added extra uncertainty to the negotiations.
