5 perfect Valentine's Day beauty looks for every kind of date you have planned

Let this edit serve as inspiration, so you have a beauty look that'll match whatever Valentine's Day mood you're in

Regardless of how you're planning to spend Valentine's Day this year, dressing up and getting ready to mark the occasion is a fun way to celebrate love, whether you're spending the night watching movies with your SO or hanging out with your best friends. Whether the evening calls for gilded lids or a retro red lipstick, here's how you can capture the unapologetically romantic spirit of the holiday with your beauty looks.

1. If you're having date night over Zoom…

A bold red lip is just as important to a digital date as great Wi-Fi. Since there's no chance of a kiss on this kind of date, you can choose a bold crimson shade that'll really make a statement. Take cues from Ananya Panday, who paired her red lips with contoured cheekbones, a little highlighter on the high points of the face and a tight, high ponytail to really up the ante. Webcams often dull your features, so adding a little blush to your cheeks is key. You can add a little more than just the usual—a gel or cream formula will look more vibrant.

2. If you're relaxing with movies and popcorn…

If you're spending time binge-watching a TV show or catching up on a movie you're looking forward to, keeping it simple and comfortable (but still flirty!) is a good idea. If you're snacking, pick a long-wear lip stain that won't budge while you eat, in a darker shade like Priyanka Chopra's, and pair it with velvety-matte base and bold brows. If you happen to be looking over at your SO while you're catching the flick, shimmery eyeshadow across the lids and in the inner corners of the eyes, is the perfect addition. Leave your strands into an easy low bun, and keep wispies out to soften things up.

3. If you're heading out to dinner…

In 2021, a dinner date out calls for wearing a protective face mask. You don't want your bright lip colour over your face while you put on and remove your mask, so stick with a nude shade that'll wear comfortably through the night like Sonam Kapoor Ahuja's. To amp things up, swirl on a creamy blush—nothing screams romance like flushed cheeks—and lightly dust on bronzer to create some definition. Let your eyes do the talking by painting on a cat-eye and adding on a strip lash on top.

4. If you're spending time together with a weekend getaway…

A weekend getaway calls for touches that effortlessly amplify your look without needing too many products—or taking too long. You don't want to spend your vacation trying to wield your brushes to create complicated cut creases or contours. Instead, make like Alia Bhatt and try a sun-kissed, lit-from-within base, and add colour by applying the same pinky-nude shade to your lips and lids. That way, you're using just one product to enhance your beauty look, and finger application will suffice.

5. If you're having a girls’ night out (or in)…

There's nothing like gathering your pals and spending time together, whether you're going out to dinner or staying in and having a karaoke night. Whatever you're doing, it's hard the beat the appeal of an all-over glow. Like Janhvi Kapoor, try pairing a wash of bronze pigment on your lids with bold OTT curls and you'll be ready to party.
