England's Six Nations defeat to Scotland saw them drop to third in the official World Rugby Rankings, with the All Blacks now ranked second behind the Springboks.
England's first home loss to Scotland since 1983 cost them two rating points and Eddie Jones' men are now a fraction under one-and-a-half points behind the All Blacks.
Scotland's points tally was boosted to 82.82, but is wasn't quite enough for them to improve on their seventh position. They are, however, only a quarter of a point adrift of sixth-placed Australia and will leapfrog the Wallabies if they beat Wales at Murrayfield this weekend.
Wales, who beat Ireland 21-16 in Cardiff, move above Argentina into eighth place, while the Irish remain fifth.
Despite not having played a Test since winning the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan, the Springboks remain well clear of the chasing pack.
