CHENNAI: A woman police head constable died on Sunday of injuries she had suffered after falling down a staircase at the Madras high court on January 25.
Police said Sarala, 43, a resident of Ganesapuram in Vyasarpadi, was attached to the Pulianthope police station. She visited the court to attend a case when she fell and suffered head injuries. Lawyers and policemen took her to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital for treatment.
Police said Sarala was admitted to the intensive care unit of the hospital after developing complications.
She died without responding to treatment.
