Gurgaon: With a target of vaccinating 8,000 recipients, Gurgaon held a mega vaccination drive on Monday. The city recorded a coverage of around 77% as 6,181 out of 8,000 frontline workers turned up for inoculation at 61 centres.
The health officials said that out of the total target of 8,000 recipients, 7,500 was for frontline workers and 500 for health care workers. For MCG, 1,500 was the target of whom 1,398 turned up for the vaccination. Police had set a target of vaccinating 2,000 personnel of whom 1,277 turned up, which accounts for 63.85% coverage. Moreover, a target of 3,600 was set for Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) and National Security Guard (NSG) recipients of whom 3,140 turned up, who were administered the Covid-19 vaccine.
“We conducted a mega vaccination drive on Monday and we could achieve a sizeable target. In the state too, we recorded the highest number of recipients as one-fifth of the state recipients were inoculated by us,” said Dr Virender Yadav, chief medical officer.
Meanwhile, Rajeev Arora, Haryana’s additional chief secretary (health), on Monday inspected a session site set up at the women police station in Sector-51. He interacted with the frontline workers and also told them to further motivate their colleagues and other frontline workers to get inoculated and address their apprehensions.
22 new cases in city
Gurgaon reported 22 new cases of Covid-19 on Monday, taking the tally of cases to 58,369. With 18 recoveries on Monday, the total number of recoveries has now reached 57,678. The number of active cases in the city is 336, of whom 303 are in home isolation.
