HUBBALLI: A 10-year-old schoolgirl from Hubballi clinched a Guinness World Record in fastest 100 meters on inline skates while spinning three hula hoops. She completed the fete in just 23.45 seconds.
Stuti Kishor Kulkarni, of Parivarthan Gurukul school, broke the record of Marwa Ibrahim of Australia, who inspired her to take up skating. Ibrahim had set the record at 27 seconds.
“I worked hard to achieve this target, and now am aiming to be a champion in gymnastics and hula hoops at International level. I will focus on sports along with studies, and will work hard on both,” said Stuti.
Stuti’s mother Rashmi Kulkarni, said the attempt was made on January 8, 2021, following all guidelines of Guinness World Record authorities. “A video of her performance was recorded and sent for approval. The authorities of Guinness World Record, after technical verification of the video, approved the record,” she said.
“Stuti utilized the lockdown effectively, as she did not have the pressure of studies from school. She spent most of the time practicing and developing stamina. She also learnt and followed techniques by watching videos. Her coach used to take online fitness classes,” said Rashmi.
