The central government has reduced the grants to states in water supply schemes by almost half. Due to this, there is a lot of difficulty in completing drinking water schemes.

At the same time, the state governments, which are facing a shortage of funds at the time of global epidemic like COVID-19, are also facing difficulties in providing tap connections to every household. Water Minister Dr. BD Kalla said this while addressing the diary release program of Rajasthan Jaldaya Technical Employees Union at Jal Bhavan on Monday.

During this, he told that till 2013, the central government used to give 90 percent grant in these schemes, but now it has been reduced to half to 45 percent. Also, 10 percent of the general public's share is kept in the Water Life Mission. This is also causing trouble for the states.

During this, Dr. BD Kalla, while releasing the diary, said that this is the first time such a diary of technical staff has been released. This will increase the facility of contact not only for the employees but also for the general public. On this occasion, Dr. Kalla praised the work of repairing the pipeline at Ramganj Chaupar during the lockdown and described the technical staff as the most useful class.
