HYDERABAD: The police on Monday arrested a man who worked as a doctor at some private hospitals in Andhra Pradesh by submitting fake MBBS and MD certificates.
Police arrested one Mangum Kiran Kumar, a resident of Visakhapatnam, as he was allegedly working in different hospitals without the knowledge of Dr Kiran Kumar Mukku, who is a genuine doctor practicing in a private hospital at Kukatpally Housing Board Colony (KPHB).
Recently, when Kiran Kumar Mukku applied for upgradation of his PAN card, he got a reply from Income Tax officials informing him that there are two different PAN cards in his name.
"I did not understand how can there be two PAN cards in my name? I approached the KPHB police, who investigated and found that a person in Andhra Pradesh was using my documents and had created fake MBBS certificates and working as a doctor,’’ Kiran Kumar Mukku said.
According to the police, Mangum Kiran Kumar worked as a compounder in an Ayurvedic clinic in Kancharapalem till 2013.
It was in the year 2016, while he was searching on the internet, he came across two certificates- MBBS and MD- of Kiran Kumar Mukku.
"Since the names are similar, the accused Kiran Kumar downloaded the certificates and created fake certificates by making the needed changes. By using them, he got employed in different hospitals,’’ police said.
Using these certificates, the accused later fraudulently obtained Aadhaar and PAN cards in the name of Kiran Kumar Mukku.
He was paid Rs 80,000 for a few months by a hospital in Srikakulam. As they started to suspect him, he left the job without informing the hospital authorities. Later he worked in two different hospitals in Andhra Pradesh.
The Police seized seized fake certificates, fake PAN and Aadhar cards from his possession.
