India vs England (IND vs ENG) 1st Test Day 4 Live Cricket Score Online Updates: After England had posted a mammoth 578 in their first innings, Rishabh Pant and Cheteshwar Pujara forged the only century-plus partnership of the innings as India scored 337 in their first innings, conceding a deficit of 241 runs. Ashwin and Sundar put on a show of resistance on Sunday as India reached 257/6 at stumps on day three of the first test.

Done and dusted! Undoubtedly India would have wanted the visitors to keep on batting in order to save the match but they have shown some fight. Ashwin finishes with an impressive 6/61 and dooms England to 178-all out. 17 overs left in the day...
India are dragging England through a world of hurt now! Ashwin bags his fourth wicket of the day as he removes Bess from the middle with a brilliant delivery. LBW! Not even a review could save the England spinner. ENG: 167/8 (43 overs), lead by 408 runs
That's a big wicket! Buttler charges ahead hoping to get a big shot, misses and he gets stumped by Pant! Nadeem gets his second wicket of the innings... meanwhile, Jofra Archer comes on next to bat for the visitors. ENG: 165/7 (41.2 overs), lead by 406 runs
30 overs left on the fourth day, and India will look to wrap things up today itself. Although Bess (12*) and Buttler (19*) have survived for more than half-an-hour now, it is India who are on the frontfoot in Chennai. England lead by 387 runs. ENG: 146/6 (36 overs)
Pope, who was only dealing in reverse sweeps against Nadeem, falls in the process. One of his shots go straight to the fielder at midwicket. Pope falls for an attacking 28.
ENG 130/6, lead by 371
Buttler and Pope resume batting for England in the evening session. Bumrah starts proceedings for India. He starts with a wide delivery, which Pope slashes through the covers for four. England want to move this game along in ODI pace now. India can only wait and watch for the declaration.
ENG 123/5
Buttler smashes a six against Nadeem, signalling England are going for the kill. When will they declare, and how will the pitch change, are the two big questions that remain. Pope and Buttler the unbeaten batsmen for the visitors. They go into the break at the end of the afternoon session at 119/5, leading by 360 runs.
Bumrah does get his man eventually. Again the ball jags back in but this time it stays low on Root and the skipper does not bother Reviewing. Jos Buttler joins Pope. The fifth England wicket falls.
ENG 105/5, lead by 346
Bumrah introduced for the first time in the second innings in the 22nd over. And he starts off with a no ball. And a boundary off the no ball to boot. A few balls later, he gets a ball to jag back into Root's pads. The umpire is unmoved, but Bumrah is sure he has got his man. India go for the Review. And lose it, the ball would have missed leg stump.
ENG 91/4
Ashwin picks up Stokes! The offie doing all the damage for India in the second innings. Gets Stokes to edge through to the keeper. Ollie Pope has joined Root, with both batsmen still going for their shots.
ENG 84/4
Wicket! Test wickdt number 300 for Ishant Sharma. Lawrence has been given out LBW. He Reviews, hoping for an inside edge, but replays show the bat will not save him. Lawrence is out for 18. Ishant joins Kapil Dev and Zaheer Khan to reach 300.

Root for a swept four again, against Ashwin this time. The skipper is batting at a strike rate of close to 200 now. And that's a first warning for Lawrence for running on the pitch. A second offence will see five penalty runs against England.
ENG 58/2
Root gets his first runs with a sweep for four against Nadeem. Two balls later, he does it again - another four. Lawrence is also using his feet a lot more to meet the spinners. India go to Ishant in the 14th over, Nadeem's spell is done.
ENG 43/2
Ashwin gets another scalp. Sibley, the other opener, falls this time. An inside edge flies off, Pujara takes a reflex catch. Joe Root comes in at 4.
ENG 32/2
Lawrence and Sibley look to negate the turn more than anything else, both batsmen playing on the front foot and smothering the ball. The no ball horror show continues for India though, another couple of no balls bowled by the spinners.
ENG 27/1 after 10
Ashwin and Nadeem are India's bowlers after the break, the seam bowlers not being used with the new ball. Sibley finds the gap between the covers off nadeem to hit his first four of the innings.
ENG 15/1
Sibley and Lawrence walk out for England to begin their 2nd innings. Ashwin has the ball in hand as action resumes. The first ball of this session brings four runs, driven on the leg side by Dan Lawrence.
Dan Lawrence joins Sibley at 3. India go with Nadeem from Ashwin's opposite end. There is some big turn and bounce on offer in these first few overs. And the first runs of the innings come via a no ball by Nadeem. 2 overs of the innings are possible before the Lunch break. England are 1/1, leading by 242.
Rory Burns and Dom Sibley open the England 2nd innings. No change in the batting order for now - there will be a change later on one presumes. The first ball of the innings produces a wicket! Ashwin bowls the first over and Burns gets an outside edge to go to Rahane at slip off the first ball of the innings.
ENG 0/1
An amazing catch at slip by Ben Stokes! That is a fitting way to end the Indian innings. Bumrah edges and Stokes, at first slip, sticks out a hand and the ball sticks in his palms inches from the ground. A special catch. India are all out in their first innings for 337. England have registered a lead of 241 in their first innings.
