When it comes to bike bikes and absolute recall value in India, it is the Hayabusa that probably tops the charts. After all, it is the ‘Dhoom’ bike that John Abraham made famous as his ultimate getaway vehicle in the hit heist movie. Having said that, the Hayabusa has always had a serious fan following across the globe and now it is back in a bold new avatar. In fact, this is the first time in 13 years that the bike has received a full model makeover!

While the styling has gotten a lot sharper, Suzuki has managed to keep the overall silhouette of the bike intact making it immediately recognisable. Having said that the revised design is on point and the lines are drool worthy! Key elements include the new front fascia with LED headlights and you also get a semi-digital instrument cluster with a TFT screen that offers the rider numerous aids such as lean angle and the gear position.

Powering the Hayabusa is a 1340cc in-line four-cylinder liquid cooled engine that delivers a solid 187 bhp and a maximum torque of 150 Nm. The engine is paired with a six speed transmission. The new Hayabusa also benefits from five rider modes, ABS, traction control, engine brake control and a unique anti-lift system that helps the rider stay in control. Stopping power comes from twin disc up front fitted with Brembo Stylema four piston callipers and a Nissin single piston calliper mounted on a single disc at the rear.

The new Suzuki Hayabusa also boasts of a launch control, hill hold control, slope dependent control and a motion track brake system. All these advanced rider aids fall under the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS) which makes it easy to really unleash the bike to its full potential yet keep it in control.

Expected to hit the Indian market in July 2021 with advanced bookings now open, the new Hayabusa is expected to retail anywhere between INR 15-17 lakh.
