In the next episode of Stories by WeWork, an in-house interactive property that celebrates the experiences and journeys of people from all walks of life, Karan Virwani, CEO, WeWork India chats with Nikhil Kamath the Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer at True Beacon and Zerodha around his entrepreneurial journey.
Nikhil started his equity trading journey at a young age of 17 after dropping out of school to play chess for India and at the age of 19 was successful enough to have co-founded Kamath Associates, a brand that manages HNI’s portfolios in public markets. In 2010, at the age of 23, Nikhil co-founded another brand Zerodha, that aimed to revolutionize Indian financial market access and is now the country’s largest retail brokerage platform facilitating orders worth 10 billion US dollars per day.
Capitalising his passion for analytics and financial markets, Nikhil has been rewarded with the GQ Entrepreneur of the year 2020 and ET Startup of the Year Award for 2020 and 2019. In addition to this, he is also the youngest member in the Forbes India’s 100 richest 2020 list and frequently commentates on the Indian capital markets and entrepreneurship for domestic and overseas media.
WeWork started ‘Stories’ with an idea of reaching out to the millennial workforce through a digital platform and connecting them to a larger community. The first few episodes featured personalities including Sunil Chhetri, Shane Watson, Brett Lee, Lisa Ray and more.
After episodes with leading wildlife photographer Shaaaz Jung and musician Prateek Kuhad, WeWork received great response and appreciation from people on-ground, its members and online audience. The positive impact that ‘Stories’ created on its audience’s life motivated WeWork to continue the series , connecting its audience to achievers from various fields to talk about their journey that has successfully inspired people.
