Mukesh Khanna who is better known as 'Shaktimaan' has opened up 'Shaktimaan Institute of Acting' in Mumbai wherein he guides the students who want to pursue their career in acting. The actor spends time with the students here and works on their voice modulation, body language and much more. He spoke to News Helpline about this new venture, rise of OTT platform and much more.
Talking about this institute, he said, "All the work for this institute had been done before Corona. But Corona changed our lives completely. I did not step out of my house during the entire lockdown. But now everything is back to normal, so we have started the classes finally. I had committed to the students that I will guide them in their journey here and I will fulfil my promise."
He further added, "Shaktimaan came as a teacher in our lives. I feel I am a teacher now. Whatever I have learnt in so many years of my career, I want to share my experience with these students. I want to teach these students the correct nuances required for acting."
These days OTT platform is on a great rise, sharing his views on it, he said, "OTT platform is very bad for the audience. There is no censor board. They are showing whatever they want to show. In our times, content was the king. In today's scenario, TRP has taken over everything so content is getting affected. The content on TV is bad and on OTT Platform it is worse. The makers these days are ready to show anything just to create controversy and get TRP”
Mukesh was also the chairman of Children's Film Society India from which he resigned in February 2018. He is the founder and director of MK Films.
