Trump lawyers blast impeachment trial as ”political theater”
In a short filed on the eve of the Senate impeachment trial, lawyers for the previous president attacked the case on a number of grounds, foreshadowing authorized and constitutional arguments they intend to current when the trial opens in earnest on Tuesday.
They counsel that Trump was merely exercising his First Amendment rights when he disputed the election outcomes and argue that he explicitly inspired his supporters to have a peaceable protest and due to this fact can’t be chargeable for the actions of the rioters.
