LS adjourned till 1700 hrs amid ruckus over farm laws

New Delhi, Feb 8 (UNI) The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 1700 hrs on Monday amid Opposition ruckus over the new farm laws.

When the House assembled at 1600 hrs, it witnessed noisy scenes after Opposition members entered the Well raising slogans and demanding the repeal of the laws.

As soon as the Question Hour started, there was sloganeering from the Opposition benches over the issue.

Amid din in Lok Sabha, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar answered the questions related to Online Education.

Speaker Om Birla tried to pacify the agitated Members and asked them to return to their seats.

However, the sloganeering continued forcing Mr Birla to adjourn the House at 1610 hrs till 1700 hrs.

New Delhi, Feb 8 (UNI) Rajya Sabha on Monday passed Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2021 which seeks to replace an ordinance on merging the cadre of J&K with the UT cadre for administration.

'It's victory of nation, not govt': PM on handling of Covid-19 pandemic

New Delhi, Feb 8 (UNI) Coming down heavily on opposition parties for criticising the Centre's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said in Rajya Sabha that the credit for fighting the Covid-19 pandemic goes to "citizens and not the government."
"India has come up with more than one vaccine for the novel coronavirus within a year and the country proved wrong all those who raised apprehensions," Mr Modi said.
