The Centre started the ‘Vande Bharat Mission’ on May 6 to help those stranded overseas due to the novel coronavirus pandemic reach their destinations via international repatriation flights.
According to the Civil Aviation Ministry, 16,306 repatriation flights were operated by the Air India Group under the Vande Bharat Mission till February 7, carrying over 22.17 lakh passengers. Of these, 8,151 were inbound flights carrying 13.11 lakh passengers and 8,155 were outbound flights with 9.06 lakh fliers.

The mission is currently in Phase 8 which will continue until March 28, 2021.
