Here, a part of the Rothi glacier collapsed and flooded the sage Ganga river. Due to this, there was heavy destruction in the area. The Sage Ganga Power Project and NTPC Project have suffered heavy losses due to this natural disaster.

It is being told that about 100 people working on this project are still being reported missing. Today once again rescue work has been started in the area. 100 army personnel, 315 ITBP, and 250 NDRF personnel are also engaged in relief and rescue operations.

Meteorologists believe that global warming is the cause of this natural disaster in Chamoli, Uttarakhand. Along with this, the recent snowfall in Uttarakhand is also being considered as the reason.
