The names of the winners of Creative Tourism Award unveiled

Recently, the names of the winners of the seventh Creative Tourism Awards, created by the World Creative Tourism Network to reward destinations and projects world over that are committed to tourism, have been declared.

As a consequence of new economies, creative tourism provides a sustainable model of the sector that satisfy the tourists new demands in regard to authentic and creative experiences at the same time generating a value chain on the territories and locals. With an intention to promote creative tourism’s good practices, these awards foster authenticity, innovation and sustainability.

The international jury of the Creative Tourism Awards, comprising international experts in tourism marketing and creative economy, shoulder the task of selecting the winners among 184 applicants from almost 37 countries. Using creativity to design exclusive experiences is the prime criteria and to create an ecosystem at a local scope.

In 2020, a special mention on resilience and creativity has been done to reward the initiative that attracted attention internationally for its resilience and creativity within the pandemic context.

To quote the Director of the Creative Tourism Network, Caroline Couret, “the added value of these awardees, in a year which creative tourism has demonstrated how creativity and human resources are essential.”

The winners will have the advantage from the international promotion of the Creative Tourism Network, along with strategic collaborations and synergies through 2021, declared “International Year of Creative Economy and Sustainable Development” by the United Nations.
