• The smallest units of information are Articles.
• Articles can be organised using Categories, which can form trees. (An article or category can only be in one category at a time.)

• You can control exactly which users can see which articles. For example, you may choose to hide all articles in a certain category from users that have not been approved by an administrator.

Joomla! comes with a variety of core extensions to make use of and manipulate content. The site part of the content component (com_content) allows you to create pages that list or display content, or allow the user to add or edit content. The various content modules, such as "Latest News", "Most Read Content" and "Newsflash", allow you to display or list content as a side feature on some or all pages.
