Ejipura flyover may be ready only next year
Work on the 2.5-km Ejipura-Kendriya Sadan flyover, aimed at facilitating signal-free movement of heavy traffic on Inner Ring Road along Koramangala by avoiding four major junctions, commenced in December 2017. Three years later, only 46% of it is complete. The work was taken up by Kolkata-based construction firm Simplex Infrastructure Limited. The flyover was supposed to be operational by December 2019 but the deadline was pushed to April 2020. Simplex missed the second date too. According to the tender, the work is supposed to be completed by December 2021, but BBMP said there will be a five-month delay.

A 100-year-old peepal tree in Kolar's Bellambari village, about 70km from Bengaluru, houses at least 14 different species, including mammals, birds, insects and reptiles. Covid-19 infections cross 4-lakh mark in Bengaluru
The total number of Covid-19 cases in Bengaluru crossed the 4-lakh mark on Saturday, but both positivity rate and case fatality rate (CFR) have reduced compared to earlier months. As per BBMP’s Covid-19 bulletin on Saturday, 3,950 patients were being treated for the infection, which put the total recoveries as on that day at 97.9%. With 4,401 deaths, the overall CFR stood at a little more than 1%. Read full story
