CHENNAI:
Tamil Nadu added 464 fresh cases and four deaths to the state
Covid-19 registry. The case tally moved to 8,42,261 and death toll reached 12,387.
In the last 24 hours, 495 people were discharged taking the total number of people cured of the viral infection to 8,25,520. There are 4,354 active cases.
On Monday, Chennai reported two deaths, followed by one each in
Ranipet and Tirunelveli. Barring Tenkasi, all other districts reported cases. With 143 new cases, Chennai was on the top of new cases table, followed by 49 in Coimbatore. All other districts reported cases below 30 cases.
While Chennai still had 1,551 people under treatment, Coimbatore had 455 covid-19 patients. Perambalur had five people under treatment, four other districts had cases below 20. While Kallakurichi has nine patients, Ramanathapuram has 10, Tuticorin has reported 12 and Ariyalur has 18.
