Reading stabbing: Boy, 16, among four suspects arrested on suspicion of murdering 26-year-old

A 16-year-old boy is one of four people arrested on suspicion of murdering a 26-year-old man in Reading at the weekend.

Emergency services were called to an altercation in Dulnan Close, Tilehurst, just before 7pm on Saturday night, where the victim was found with multiple injuries.

The man died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.

Three men, aged, 22, 25 and 25, and the 16-year-old boy, all from Reading, have all been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody, Thames Valley Police have said.

The victim and suspects are believed to be known to each other.

Superintendent Nick John said: "We know that there have been a number of serious incidents in the Reading area in recent weeks, and I fully appreciate the concern that incidents such as this cause in the local community.

"I would like to offer my reassurance that we are conducting a very thorough investigation into the events around this incident.

"At this early stage of the investigation, I would like to add that we believe the victim and offenders were known to each other, and to that end, we do not believe there to be a wider threat to the Tilehurst community."

Police have requested anyone with information or dashcam footage to get in touch, and said they are also keen to hear from anyone who saw a red Range Rover Evoque, or anybody leaving that vehicle near Gairn Close, Tilehurst, between 7pm and 9pm on Saturday.
