Vegetables have again become expensive in the capital. Onions used in vegetables are making people cry. The price has been increasing wildly for the last fifteen days. Recently, the price of onion reached Rs 45 per kg even at the wholesale price. The situation is that in the last fifteen days, the price of onion has increased by two and a half times. Onion selling for Rs 20 per kg is being sold in retail markets these days for Rs 50-60 per kg. However, prices are expected to fall in the next ten days.

Rising onion prices have increased the difficulties of the common man. There has been a continuous rise in the price of onions. Due to the expensive, onion is getting away from the plate of common people. The special thing is that due to the expensive, good quality onions are not able to reach the retail market. On the other hand, due to inflation, onion has almost disappeared from the plate of salad on the street food sold at Delhi Hotel, Dhabas. In the name of salad, people have to work with cucumber and carrot instead of onion.

According to the wholesale traders, only some relief can be given when new onion arrives. As soon as a large quantity of onion game starts reaching Delhi from Gujarat, Bengal, and Nasik, the price will fall. On the other hand, the prices of green vegetables have also increased.

Possible to fall in onion price in next ten days

Onion prices have skyrocketed due to the difference between the two crops. Last week, the price of onion had gone beyond Rs. 45 per kg in wholesale price. But now its price has dropped significantly. The onion price on Saturday night was 20-33 rupees per kg in wholesale price. The onion crop has been very good this year. In the next ten days, the price is expected to fall significantly. The crop is good, so the price will be low.

Bumper reduction in wholesale prices of potato

Potato prices have increased along with onions. While there is a steep decline in the price of potatoes in the wholesale price. In the Azadpur division, only 6-7 rupees per kg of potato is being sold, while it is going to reach 20 rupees per kg as soon as it comes into the retail market. The potato crop is bumped. Price low in wholesale, but expensive in the retail market

Onion sold for Rs 30 per kg at wholesale price reaches Rs 60 per kg as soon as it reaches the retail market, and Rs 6 per kg for potato sold in the wholesale market, gets Rs 15-20 per kg. However, there is a decrease in the price in the weekly market.

On the other hand, along with potato and onion, prices of peas, cabbage, radish, carrots are also not getting reduced in the retail market. In the past week, there has been an increase in prices by 10-20 percent. Retail seller Banshi says that potato-onion is less available at wholesale prices, but buyers choose vegetables on the street. Whereas 10 percent of the vegetables are spoiled when taken in Katta at wholesale price.
